For most mums, a child reaching their 4th birthday is a right of passage that sees a little one developing their sense of independence and self-confidence, and heading off to nursery, or even primary school. Seeing as KeriKit is very much my baby (alongside my 3 other beautiful babies!), this milestone feels very significant, and the brand really has 'grown up' since 2018.
In the past year alone we have weathered many storms, figuratively and literally. This time last year, I wasn't sure if KeriKit could stay afloat due to a number of unforeseen challenges, but we made it through. Then on our SS19 shoot, the stunning girls from Not Such A Model Mum modelled their socks off in 'dangerously windy' conditions, and always got the shot; and more recently with our warehouse flooding due to the crazy stormy weather in the north of England that nearly broke the bank when the insurance company refused to pay out. There have been lots of challenges, that's for sure. But we have also launched our brand new website on Shopify and introduced a whole host of beautiful new bags and accessories that allow you to complete your essential daily survival kit with ease - whether you are working, looking after little ones, or grabbing precious me-time. With only an incredibly small team running things, but a huge amount of passion and drive, I am so proud to see KeriKit flourishing, and beginning to reach its potential - but there is still so much more to do!
In the last few months, we have been developing new styles and collection materials for SS20, and have been developing our amazing KitGirl community to become even stronger. We have been working with some of the most inspiring influencers and journalists who truly understand our mission to support women like you to achieve their goals. Also, I have been developing my own sense of purpose with KeriKit and I am so proud to have started running Facebook Live Friday sessions and creating other pieces of content to bring the world of KeriKit out from 'behind the veil', so you can get a better idea of what it takes to bring your bags to you.
For those who don't know, please make sure you check out our Kitgirl Facebook Community page that is a closed group and safe space to ask questions on any topic, and get advice from like-minded women. We love when you share your ideas around the KeriKit brand and products, or tips and tricks to save the rest of us from making the same mistakes in parenting, work, and life in general!
I am excited to see what the next year has in-store for KeriKit and our Kitgirls, and I really hope you will continue to join me on our journey as we navigate it all, in style! Here's to the next 4 years!!
